Project Praise Presents “The Kingdom Connection”

On Sunday, May 8, FUMC Allen’s children’s choir, Project Praise, presents the musical The Kingdom Connection: Where the Bible Comes to Life at 11:00am for a special Mother’s Day worship service. Children’s Sunday school will only meet at 9:30am so that all our children can attend the musical with their families at 11:00am.

Project Praise is a special group of musicians who meet every Sunday in Base Camp to learn singing, dancing, and acting. These dedicated children enjoy being on stage, but more important they love to spread God’s message of love and redemption.

Three special volunteers share in the task of teaching and nurturing our children in kindergarten through sixth grade, to give praise and honor to God through music. Dawn Horton, Caryn Fecht, and Kim Mathews spend  many hours every Sunday (and a few Saturdays, too) with the Project Praise choir while tending to their own homes and managing their careers. Terry Fecht, our church’s assistant director of music and organist, serves as the group’s accompanist.

God has given FUMC Allen a special gift with this ministry team. Be sure to thank them on Mother’s Day after the 11:00am service.

Another special group of volunteers are wrapping up another year of children’s music as leaders of the percussion groups, In Beat With God and Jammin’ 4 Jesus, as well as our children’s handbell choir, Chimes and Bells for Christ. Please join us in thanking Daisy Miller, Kirsten Philipbar, John Gurke, and Karen O’Connor. They have given of their time and talents to teach our children not only music theory, notes, and rhythm but also a new love for God’s gift of music that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
