Missions Cafe Opens December 2018

Serving is at the heart of who we are as a church

Starting Sunday, December 2, 2018, you’ll have a new opportunity to support the missions of our church.

Missions Café will take over the Sunday morning coffee bar, offering a South and Central American blend coffee, hot tea, a variety of creamers and sweeteners as well as donuts and smokies from Max’s Donut Shop here in Allen. We’ll also explore the possibility of rotating different or seasonal items. All items are just $1, and the profits will go directly to support a different mission effort each quarter.

Through March 2018, profits from Missions Café will benefit Send Hope, founded by our member Dr. Tom Brian. Send Hope provides a home for partially disabled, abused, neglected, and/or malnourished children, offering food, shelter, and education.

In addition to accepting cash, we look forward to being able to accept card payments. We’ll also have the option to purchase punch cards in $5 or $10 increments so you, your spouse, and/or your kids could each have their own way to buy their Sunday morning food and drink. Our elementary students can make their own purchases using the Bible bucks they earn in Sunday school (3 Bible bucks = $1).

When our building project is completed next fall, Missions Café will move into its permanent home in the new atrium. At that point, we’ll have even more food and drink options, including espresso drinks and smoothies!

If you have a heart for missions and would like to sign up for a Sunday morning shift to serve in Missions Café, contact Rev. Jessica Wright.
