Construction Progress Continues

Children’s Center Update

This has been a great week for the construction team as the roof has been installed on the Children’s Center and we are finally dried in.  The back-end HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work are almost complete, and the drywall will begin to be installed in the next few days.  Some Building Committee members took our Children’s Ministry Director, Mary Freeman and Children’s Ministry Assistant, Trish Morehead, on an interior tour yesterday.

As you can see below, they can’t wait to occupy their new office!

Children’s Center Wall Signing

This Sunday, February 17, you will have an opportunity to sign a wall that will be part of the interior of our new Children’s Center.  Stop by the east hallway sometime before or after worship or Sunday school this week and add your prayers, scripture, and/or signature to our facility.

ATRIUM foundation about to be poured

On February 15, we’ll pour the foundation for the new Hospitality Atrium.  Getting to this point has been a real challenge with the periodic rain that we have had almost every week since the start of the new year.  But we finally got a break this week, which allowed moisture control, termite prevention, and other preparatory work to be done before pouring.

Next week, we’ll construct the block walls followed by structural steel within the next couple of weeks.  We anticipate the atrium will be dried in before the end of March.

In case you didn’t get to see it, here is a drone video of the grade beams being poured last week in preparation for the foundation.

We will continue to provide regular updates about the project. You can access these updates by clicking on “Building Project Updates” from the home page of this website or Building Projects/Building Project Updates from the menu on any page of our website.
