Bible Studies for 2023

Bible Studies for 2023

Are you looking for a small group and an opportunity to study God’s Word?

Our new year is well underway, and one way to start off your better year is through discipleship and Bible study. To that end, FUMC Allen is offering four adult Bible studies that are welcoming new participants this month.

The Tuesday Men’s Bible Study is a well established group that meets every Tuesday morning at 6:30am. This group studies the scripture for the upcoming week’s sermon. New members are ALWAYS welcome. They meet in S207/211 from 6:30am-8:00am.

The Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study, led by Bernie Dickson, kicked off their winter session on January 10, but it’s not too late to join. They’ll be doing two studies over the next 12 weeks. This group meets on Tuesdays from 9:30am-11:00am in S209.

On January 23, Rev Maxie Moore begins a six-week study, “This I Know For Sure,” based on the book by award-winning Gospel singer-songwriter and Bible teacher Babbie Mason. This book challenges readers to examine “your personal relationship with God and make up your mind to believe God’s Word, regardless of your feelings or circumstances, and take hold of some non-negotiable principles of the faith.”

This study, for women only, begins on Monday, January 23, at 9:15am-10:15am in S208. To register, email Rev Maxie Moore, MaxieM@fumcallen.org.

If an evening study is more convenient for you, Zoe Dearing leads a six-week study of Adam Hamilton’s “Making Sense of the Bible” beginning Tuesday, January 24. Hamilton, one of the country’s leading pastors and Christian authors, addresses the “hot-button issues that plague the church and cultural debate, and answers many of the questions frequently asked by Christians and non-Christians alike.”

This study, for both men and women, begins on Tuesday February 24 at 6:30pm-8:00am in N194. To register, email Adam Lubbers, AdamL@fumcallen.org.
