Part of our tradition at First United Methodist Church of Allen is to serve our neighbors over the holiday season. We call this tradition our “Holiday Challenge.” We have many ways for you to serve during the 2023 holiday season.
Here are the six projects currently underway:
- Stuff stockings for our soldiers serving our country during this holiday season on Sunday November 12. Donations are still being accepted through November 5. Check HERE for more details about the collection.
- Assemble nutritious meals for Kids Against Hunger on Sunday November 12
- Help with the Boyd Elementary School Thanksgiving Feast on November 16. We need lots of help at the school on that day as well as donations of stuffing/dressing/mashed potatoes for the meal.
- Donate winter clothing for Streetside Showers from November 19-December 3.
- Donate items for the Boyd Elementary Holiday Shop or donate time to work in their holiday shop. Your donations provide students an opportunity to shop for gifts for their parents and/or guardians this holiday season.
- Pick up a bag at the church and fill it with gifts for a Send Hope Christmas.
- Support the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County as a personal shopper for their holiday store.
