Holy Week

Holy Week is the week of Christian observances leading to Easter Sunday. The week begins with Palm Sunday and progresses through Holy or Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. It concludes with the celebration of Easter Sunday.

Panhandle Wildfire Response

In response to a request from the North Central District Early Preparedness Disaster Response Chair Rev. Chuck Church, First United Methodist Church of Allen will be collecting the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to send to the Texas Panhandle Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) who are fighting wildfires and cleaning up the aftermath in the Texas Panhandle: Work Gloves: Protect hands from debris, sharp objects, and contaminants. Spring Events 2024

Daylight Saving Time begins on March 10, which means we are all losing an hour and facing some adjustments in the coming week. But while we may be losing an hour of sleep, we look to be gaining so much more in the coming weeks. From March 11-15, many families, teachers, and students are celebrating a well-deserved Spring Break. And we continue our season of Lent, looking forward to the coming of Holy Week and the promise of Easter Sunday.…

Allen Interfaith Day of Service Recap

This week, we celebrate the Allen Interfaith Day of Service, which was held on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 19, after being rescheduled from a cold wintery Dr Martin Luther King Jr Day on January 15. More than 200 volunteers came together at Ereckson Middle School on this federal holiday for the event hosted by the Allen Interfaith community.
