General Conference 2024

General Conference 2024

General Conference of The UMC, the governing body that sets policy and speaks for our worldwide denomination, begins April 23 and runs through May 3 in Charlotte, NC. Three of the leads of the North Texas and Central Texas delegations shared with us what is being voted on and what it might mean for our local churches. Our team from the North Texas Conference has compiled resources to help us better understand the decisions before the body as they meet next week. Watch the webinar, explore our FAQs, and learn more about General Conference here.

Pray for General Conference

Prayer is an essential element in the life of a follower of Jesus. As we approach the upcoming  General Conference of The United Methodist Church, we at the local church request that you lift up in your personal prayer time the delegates in attendance and the work that they will do together.

We’ve included below links to a prayer guide, developed by Rev. Joy Dister-Dominguez from Keller UMC, which provides a “meaningful framework based on the task of the body to lift our voices in sincere supplication during this sacred time before and during General Conference.”

“We encourage all to use and share this resource, dedicating daily time to communing with our God and inviting the Holy Spirit to be our constant companion. As we do so, we will experience increased openness, unity, and commitment to our God.

Let us approach General Conference with prayerful, humble hearts so that we may be centered, uplifted and motivated to follow Jesus faithfully.
