There’s something special about August at Children’s Creative Playday Preschool. The classrooms begin to come alive, familiar faces return, new friendships are waiting to begin, and there is a wonderful sense of anticipation in the air. After a summer of rest and preparation, we at FUMC Allen are so excited to welcome our preschool family back for another year of learning, growing, playing, and discovering together!
Our 2026–2027 school year officially begins with our dedicated team of 30 staff members returning on Monday, August 17, for a full week of in-service staff development. Teachers will spend the week getting classrooms ready, planning meaningful learning experiences, refreshing their skills, and preparing to give our students the very best start to the new school year.
Then, on Thursday evening, August 20, our students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers and begin making those first connections that make a classroom feel like home. On Monday, August 24, the doors officially open for the first day of school!

For more than 50 years, Children’s Creative Playday has been part of the Allen community. Established in 1975, our preschool was originally created in response to a community need for a quality preschool program. Today, it has grown into an important ministry of First United Methodist Church of Allen, continuing a legacy of serving children and families with love, purpose, and excellence.
Every day brings opportunities to discover something new, build confidence, practice independence, make friends, and develop a love of learning that will carry with them far beyond the preschool years.

Playday’s school year runs from August through May, with classes meeting Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 1:45pm. We are proud to provide a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where children can learn through play and where families become part of a caring community.
As we prepare to welcome 121 students through our doors this August, we are also looking ahead to the children and families who will join us throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
