Help Stop Hunger This Summer

During the school year the Free & Reduced Lunch Program offers meals each school day to students of low income families. BUT, where do they eat in the summertime? This summer Allen Community Outreach will again be fighting hunger and filling tummies by supplying specially packed bags of healthy, kid-friendly groceries. Each bag contains easy-to-prepare breakfast and lunch food items. For a $25 donation you can Adopt-An-ACO Kid and provide nutritious meals this summer. Or shop for the items we…

Family Night at the Natatorium

Join your FUMC Allen family as we celebrate the Memorial Day holiday with a family night hosted by Youth Ministry and Children’s Ministry at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium in Allen. New Venue for Kick-Off Event

May 13, 2015 8:35pm UPDATE: After consultation with the City of Allen, the Friday May 15, Change The World Kick-Off Event has relocated to FUMC Allen with a 7:00pm start time. The recent rains have made it impossible to hold the show at the Joe Farmer Amphitheater. Parents Night Out

Plan your Valentine’s date and bring the kids to Playday’s Parents Night Out. Children, ages 18 months to 12 years old, will be cared for by the staff and friends of Children’s Creative Playday Preschool. $20 per child ($50 family max) includes pizza, drinks, games, crafts, and a movie. Youth Confirmation

FUMC Allen Youth Ministry offers a special confirmation class for youth in grades 7-12. Classes begin Wednesday, February 4, and continue through Wednesday, April 8, meeting from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the youth wing. If you have not been confirmed in the Methodist church or if you want a deeper understanding of the Christian faith and our uniquely Methodist heritage and beliefs, you will want to be part of our weekly discussions. Caregivers United

On October 21, CareGivers United welcomes guest speaker, Elder Care Attorney Lori Leu, at 7:00pm in the FUMC Allen parlor. Ms. Leu’s presentation focuses on legal issues affecting seniors and long-term planning, from simple wills to more complicated estate planning, financing of long-term care, including Medicaid eligibility, Veteran’s benefits, advance directives, guardianships, probate, and estate administration.
