SPRC Announces Staffing Update

In the United Methodist Church, pastors are appointed to serve a particular mission field and/or church for one year at a time. In 2017, Bishop Mike McKee appointed Rev. This year, the Bishop and Cabinet have appointed Jessica to serve as the Associate Director of the Center for Missional Outreach of the North Texas Conference, effective July 1, 2022. This move is a wonderful opportunity for Jessica to live into her…

Summer Sunday School Leaders Needed

Our youth program needs a few adults to commit to the Sunday morning Education Hour from 9:45am-10:45am. On Sunday mornings, our students are loving, low-energy, and insightful. Our class structure is to share the past week’s highs and lows, introduce the lesson, bible/study lesson, and life application, and close with sharing joys, concerns, and prayer. A student leader usually leads the lesson. The adult’s role is to keep the group focused on the lesson. Our groups number between 8-15 depending…

Sponsor a Child at the House of Hope

The House of Hope provides a Christ-centered home where children and youth can feel safe and secure while completing their educational goals. The House of Hope is home to 30-35 at-risk children and youth in the city of Puerto Lempira, Honduras. One of the ways we support this vital ministry is by sponsoring children at the house. These sponsorships not only offset the costs for raising and caring for a child or youth, but gives us the opportunity to communicate,…

Lenten Devotionals and Studies

Devotionals The Lenten season is a time for us to examine ourselves, reflect on who we are, and recommit ourselves to growing in our love for God and one another. To help with that goal, we recommend the devotional book,  Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: Day by Day, by Peter Scazzero. This book will anchor your life on the invitation to love God with all your heart, mind, and strength by practicing the ancient and yet powerful spiritual discipline of the “Daily Office,” which…
