DARING Ministries Donates $700 to Heifer International

DARING ministries, FUMC Allen’s youth choir program, chose to raise money for Heifer International as their 2019-2020 choir tour service project. Heifer International is an organization that’s on a mission to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities. Over the past year, the group collected funds for Heifer at their Sunday and Friday rehearsals. To make the collections more challenging, they divided into three sub-groups to create a competition…

COVID-19 Update August 28 2020

On Sunday, August 23, our building reopened to small groups, educational groups, Playday teachers, and gym rentals. Yard Signs Now Available for Your Mission Field

Loving God Loving Neighbor| A Message for YOUR Mission Field For years, the church as an institution has considered our “mission field” as the one-mile radius around the church property. We sought to learn as much as we could about those living and working in close proximity to our 601 S Greenville campus. Then 2020 happened. Through the experiences of social distancing and livestream worship, we have expanded our thinking and considered the limitations of a one-mile radius mission field.…

Risk Tolerance Levels

To accommodate the comfort levels of our guests as we open up our building for worship and other activities, we have created the following risk tolerance levels for our congregation to establish the defining safety protocols for all church events.

Pop Top Ministry Continues to Thrive at FUMC Allen

For many years now, Shelley and Mark Stevenson have collected pop-tabs for the Ronald McDonald House on behalf of FUMC Allen. Mark and Shelley have promoted this personal mission throughout their mission field by sharing this ministry within the church through Sunday school classes, children’s church, and Vacation Bible School. They have gone outside the church into their circles of influence, gathering millions of pop tabs along the way. On August 6 alone, Mark and Shelley deposited 13 containers of…

COVID-19 Update for July 7 2020

Jesus taught us that the greatest command was to love God and to love our neighbor. John Wesley’s General Rules remind us that we are to first do no harm. Taking steps to keep one another safe is a way we can live into this command and be vigilant and proactive leaders in our community, doing our part to curb the spread of the coronavirus. To this end, FUMC Allen has made the following decisions, which are effective immediately:  …
