Our New Facilities Will Begin to Take Shape in December

Concrete Slab Work to Begin in Early December After 3 months of demolition, excavation and site preparation, the actual new construction of our new Children’s and Hospitality Additions will begin next week.  During December, the concrete slabs for both facilities will be poured followed by the assembly of the structural steel which will support both facilities.  Please be cautious as you enter and exit the facilities, especially during weekdays as there will be many trucks entering and exiting our property.…

Site preparation underway for Concrete pours Now that the former Youth Building demolition is complete, our contractors are preparing the site to pour the concrete foundation for our new Children’s Center and Hospitality Atrium.  Part of this preparation involves the underground plumbing, sewer, and storm drain work needed for the facility changes. Scheduled Power Outage and New Children’s Center Excavation

This friday, October 5th, a power outage has been scheduled for the entire fumc allen facility In preparation for demolition of the former youth wing, the power for all of FUMC Allen will be shut down first thing in the morning on Friday, October 5th.  Additionally, the offices will be closed and the phone service may be temporarily interrupted.  The timing of this outage is planned for this specific date because Children’s Creative Playday does not meet on Friday.  Additionally,…

Congregation Approves Building Project

On Sunday, August 5, FUMC Allen held a congregational meeting to vote on a “Proceed with Construction” proposal for the Embrace and Transform Building Project.  After a presentation from our Building Committee, the congregation overwhelmingly approved moving forward with the project with 96 percent of the attending members voting in favor. Building Plans Finalized: Upcoming Congregational Meetings

As the days of summer are upon us, things remain very busy for our Building Committee.  Just this week, the final construction documents have been completed by GFF Architects.  Between now and mid-July, we will be working to receive final construction pricing from our General Contractor and all of the subcontractors for the various trades.  We are also in the process of finalizing financing for the project and working with the City of Allen on various project requirements.  Once the…
