Construction Is Progressing Rapidly

We continue to make great progress on the construction of our new Children’s Center and Hospitality Atrium.  To see the latest, watch the video below. Hospitality Foundation Poured – Steel Assembly Almost Complete

Hospitality Space Last week, our construction crew poured the foundation for the new Hospitality Atrium.  You can see that area in the picture below.  The pipes coming through the slab to the left will provide the plumbing for our new coffee bar. Construction Progress Continues

Children’s Center Update This has been a great week for the construction team as the roof has been installed on the Children’s Center and we are finally dried in.  The back-end HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work are almost complete, and the drywall will begin to be installed in the next few days.  Some Building Committee members took our Children’s Ministry Director, Mary Freeman and Children’s Ministry Assistant, Trish Morehead, on an interior tour yesterday. Children’s Center Update Since the arrival of the steel a few weeks ago, the contractors have made great progress creating the shell for the new Children’s Center.  As you can see below, the roof deck is on, the interior wall framing is up, and the HVAC ductwork is in process.  We should be dried in completely within a couple of weeks and then moving forward with the interior work. Our New Facilities Will Begin to Take Shape in December

Concrete Slab Work to Begin in Early December After 3 months of demolition, excavation and site preparation, the actual new construction of our new Children’s and Hospitality Additions will begin next week.  During December, the concrete slabs for both facilities will be poured followed by the assembly of the structural steel which will support both facilities.  Please be cautious as you enter and exit the facilities, especially during weekdays as there will be many trucks entering and exiting our property.…

As the Concrete Work Begins, Your Prayers Help Build the Foundation

Site preparation underway for Concrete pours Now that the former Youth Building demolition is complete, our contractors are preparing the site to pour the concrete foundation for our new Children’s Center and Hospitality Atrium.  Part of this preparation involves the underground plumbing, sewer, and storm drain work needed for the facility changes. Then, they’ll regrade the areas and test for moisture.  Once these tasks are complete, the contractor will pour the new concrete piers and grade beams in preparation for…

Scheduled Power Outage and New Children’s Center Excavation

This friday, October 5th, a power outage has been scheduled for the entire fumc allen facility In preparation for demolition of the former youth wing, the power for all of FUMC Allen will be shut down first thing in the morning on Friday, October 5th.  Additionally, the offices will be closed and the phone service may be temporarily interrupted.  The timing of this outage is planned for this specific date because Children’s Creative Playday does not meet on Friday.  Additionally,…
