Bible Reading Plans 2022

As we begin the new year, FUMC Allen wants to help you and encourage you to read the Bible this year. We have identified two programs: The Bible Project, which has reading plans on their website as well as a brand new, highly rated mobile app, and The Connect Bible Plan, which is being used in our Children’s Ministry program.

Easter is a unique time for all of us, a time when we stop and think about how much God loves us and remember the great gift of Jesus’ resurrection. We look forward to sharing this Easter celebration with you and your family. Childcare will be available for children 4 years and younger during the 8:40am and 11:00am services. Holy Week

Holy Week is the week of Christian observances leading to Easter Sunday. The week begins with Palm Sunday and progresses through Holy or Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. It concludes with the celebration of Easter Sunday.

Lent 2022

Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent comes from the Anglo Saxon word lencten, meaning “lengthen” and refers to the lengthening days of spring. The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry.
