Greeters Needed!

Need a change in 2018?  Make a resolution to become a weekly greeter!  It’s SO easy! Weekly greeters are responsible for extending radical hospitality to everyone who walks through the doors of our church. Twenty minutes on a Sunday morning is all it takes to be a part of this vital ministry.  We need adults as well as kids 6th through 12th grade (students can earn community service hours by serving). Contact Rev Maxie Moore for more information.

Contact Rev Maxie Moore for more information.

Historical Marker Dedication

On September 29, Paula Ross, Chairman of the Collin County Historical Commission, and Dennie Swingle, FUMC Allen Trustee, placed the stake for the location of the historical marker.  The marker should go in the ground in early October.  The unveiling and dedication of the historical marker in honor of our church’s congregation is Sunday October 29, at 12:30pm, and will be part of our Fall Festival celebration event.

Turquoise Table Workshops

Have you noticed the picnic table in our sanctuary? If so, you may have noticed that it started off as bare wood and has been becoming turquoise over the past few weeks. That is no coincidence! Part of our Reclaiming the Table worship series has been inspired by the book The Turquoise Table by Kristin Schell. She writes about simple ways we can find connections in our neighborhoods, engage our community, and build friendships. In our busy lives, it can…
