Sack Lunch Prep

We need volunteers to help us prepare sandwiches for our guests attending the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Appreciation Day Service on Monday, January 20. We’ll hold a sandwich-making session on Sunday, January 19, from 1:00pm-3:00pm in the FUMC Allen Fellowship Hall for anyone who would care to lend a helping hand. On Monday, January 20, we’ll also need volunteers to assemble sack lunches from 9:00am-12:30pm. Sign up on Sunday mornings or contact Ruth Swingle, 972.727.8261.

Grieving Hearts Group

FUMC Allen hosts a variety of on-site grief support programs presented by the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Hospice. These programs are free and open to adults from our community. Child care is not provided. Grieving Hearts is a monthly support group for anyone grieving the death of their spouse. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Sharing the Journey: Coping with Grief is a six-week grief support workshop presented by the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) and hosted at FUMC Allen.
