On the second Thursday each month, FUMC Allen hosts an evening legal aid intake clinic. Applicants are interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and screened for income eligibility. If eligible, a volunteer attorney will conduct an interview with the applicant that same evening.
Types of cases commonly seen are consumer protection, employment matters, estate planning, landlord/tenant, federal tax issues, divorce and domestic violence, debt collection, driver license reinstatement, and public benefits.
FUMC Allen volunteers provide a meal for those being served.
