SPEAKERS FORUM: Dr. Thomas R McFaul
Wednesday, January 12 2022
6:30pm
FUMC Allen Atrium
Dr. Thomas McFaul will be our guest at FUMC Allen on Wednesday, January 12, from 6:30pm-8:00pm, to talk about his new book, The Evolution of Faith: Christ, Science, and World Religions.
Co-authored by Dr McFaul and Al Brunsting, this book seeks to provide answers for some of the biggest questions with which we continue to wrestle:
- What is the relationship between science and faith?
- Do they interact with each other or are they always at odds?
- What is my response to people of other religions?
- How do I live in a world with so many options?
- What is my response to people I disagree with?
- What is essential to faith?
The Evolution of Faith is the third book about science and faith written by these two authors who have been working for decades to answer these big questions of our age and to provide wisdom and understanding for people living in a complicated world.
This forum will include a conversation between Dr McFaul and Rev Dr Alyce McKenzie, professor of preaching and worship at Perkins School of Theology. They will discuss the book and include a time for questions and answers. Dr. McFaul will also sign books which will be available for purchase at Missions Café on Sunday mornings before and after the event as well as the night of the forum.
Missions Café will be open during the event, selling snacks, drinks, and Dr McFaul’s book. Dr McFaul will also return on Sunday, January 30, and Sunday February 5, to teach during the Sunday School hour. Details to come after the new year.
