Sports and Recreation

Our program centers around the philosophy that positive reinforcement and love is the keystone to player development on the court, field, track, and personal development.

We have has opportunities for children, youth, and adults to participate in various sports leagues and programs within our facility as well as to field teams and groups that play with other churches in our area.

As we rebuild our offerings in a pandemic environment, we are pleased to offer the following programs:

Yoga Flow Mondays 9:15am
Yoga Flow Tuesdays 6:00pm

Yoga Flow moves through floor, seated, and standing poses, improving flexibility, core and muscle strength, and balance.  Every class begins and ends with centering and breath work, allowing for stress relief and relaxation.

Chair Yoga
Mondays 10:45am

Chair yoga uses chairs and props for balance and stability.  The class is open to all, but designed to bring the benefits of yoga to those who have difficulty getting up and down off of the floor, or have other physical limitations.

i9 Sports

First United Methodist Church of Allen is excited to announce a new sports opportunity for our children as we partner with i9 Sports, who focuses solely on high-quality, community-based kids sports leagues. With i9 Sports leagues, no child will ever be excluded by a try-out, ride the bench for an entire game, or be cut from a team. Yes, we will keep score, but i9 Sports has created a fun way to help kids develop athletic ability, a love of team sports, and an understanding that how you play the game is as important as the score.

i9 Sports strives to not only help kids become better athletes but also become better people.

  • Basketball, indoor soccer, and volleyball leagues in our gym
  • Leagues are for children ages 3 through 14 (depending on the sport)
