Scripture Reading
Romans 8:28, 31, 35-39 NRSV
Rev Brian Hardesty-Crouch

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

PROMPTS & RESPONSES

Pastor: The Lord be with you.
Response: And also with you.

Pastor: Life up your hearts.
Response: We lift them up to the Lord.

Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
Response: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Pastor: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
Response: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Pastor: And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,
we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice,
in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
Response: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.
