This ladies’ group meets at a local restaurant on the fourth Tuesday of each month, September-June, for fellowship and support. Exceptions In October, the group meets on October 15 instead of October 22. In November, the group meets on November 19 instead of November 26. Men Talking is a group of retired men who meet over coffee and donuts every Wednesday at 10:00am in the parlor. This group discusses timely topics, hears an occasional speaker, shares life experiences, reflects on the wisdom gleaned from their past experiences, discovering where God is in their midst. Our nursery is a wonderful place for families to find care for their youngest members during worship and special events. Our nursery staff is background checked and trained in CPR and first aid. On Sunday mornings, we’ll share an age- appropriate Bible lesson. Nursery care is provided during all worship services (including holidays). Women Unplugged, ages 30-70, gather to unplug from their daily routines and the general busy-ness of life to focus on God’s Word in the Bible and its practical application for daily living as a woman in the world today, while encouraging one another in their Christian journey.
This informal group meets each week to grow closer to God and closer to one another. While this class is made up mostly of parents of children from late elementary school through college, all are welcome to join.
FUMC Allen offers a preschool Sunday school for children 2 years old through pre-kindergarten in the nursery hallway near the Children’s Wing. Classes are held at 9:30am and 11:00am each Sunday. Children enjoy crafts, snacks, videos, and stories that help them learn that God created them and God loves them.

This lively group of married and single adults in their 30s-50s gathers for fellowship and Christian growth. Many have preschool to high school age children, though some have no children and some college and adult age children. Studies vary from books or parts of the Bible, to those that relate the Bible to various life issues.
This group of mostly retired senior adults enjoys fellowship as they discuss the Bible and the many aspects the Christian life. They study a variety of biblically related topics to help them grow in their Christian faith.
Singles and couples have lively discussions about the Bible and living a life of faith, while supporting one another in the Christian life. This class frequently studies current Christian books as well as topics relevant to our faith.
This informal and lively class of age 50+ adults studies the Bible to relate it to life. Studies on a variety of topics usually last from 6 to 12 weeks. Many of the members of this class have adult children and grandchildren.

On the second Thursday each month, FUMC Allen hosts an evening legal aid intake clinic. Applicants are interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and screened for income eligibility. If eligible, a volunteer attorney will conduct an interview with the applicant that same evening. Types of cases commonly seen are consumer protection, employment matters, estate planning, landlord/tenant, federal tax issues, divorce and domestic violence, debt collection, driver license reinstatement, and public benefits. Feed Your NeighborFourth Saturday of Each Month As part of an ongoing effort to build bridges within our community, volunteers from FUMC Allen serve with the Islamic Association of Allen’s Feed Your Neighbor project every fourth Saturday of the month . Together we prepare approximately 500 meals for the homeless. We meet at 9:30am at the IAA (909 Allen Central Drive, Allen) to pack individual lunches.
