Our nursery is a wonderful place for families to find care for their youngest members during worship and special events. Our nursery staff is background checked and trained in CPR and first aid. On Sunday mornings, we’ll share an age- appropriate Bible lesson. Nursery care is provided during all worship services (including holidays). February’s communion offering will go to support our global mission partner, Kids Against Hunger. Kids Against Hunger’s goal is to eradicate of world hunger by packaging highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice meal kits. These meals are distributed to starving children and their families in 70 countries through partnerships with humanitarian organizations worldwide. The Seekers, adults in their 30s-50s focuses on building relationships while enjoying Christian fellowship. Married and single adults study the Bible to find guidance and strength in dealing with life experiences while living faithfully within their families, their work, and their community.
This group of age 50+ lively seniors grows in Christ through scripture-based studies that usually last from 6 to 12 weeks. They are active in fellowship and service on a regular basis.
While this class of age 25+ adults is mostly parents of children from birth to sixth grade, all are welcome to join. This class uses a variety of studies in order to grow as Christians.
Women Unplugged, ages 30-70, gather to unplug from their daily routines and the general busy-ness of life to focus on God’s Word in the Bible and its practical application for daily living as a woman in the world today, while encouraging one another in their Christian journey.
This informal group meets each week to grow closer to God and closer to one another. While this class is made up mostly of parents of children from late elementary school through college, all are welcome to join.
FUMC Allen offers a preschool Sunday school for children 2 years old through pre-kindergarten in the nursery hallway near the Children’s Wing. Classes are held at 9:30am and 11:00am each Sunday. Children enjoy crafts, snacks, videos, and stories that help them learn that God created them and God loves them.
Our class for college-aged adults and young professionals tackles practical issues and God questions with plenty of insight and laughter along the way.
This lively group of married and single adults in their 30s-50s gathers for fellowship and Christian growth. Many have preschool to high school age children, though some have no children and some college and adult age children. Studies vary from books or parts of the Bible, to those that relate the Bible to various life issues.
This group of mostly retired senior adults enjoys fellowship as they discuss the Bible and the many aspects the Christian life. They study a variety of biblically related topics to help them grow in their Christian faith.
Singles and couples have lively discussions about the Bible and living a life of faith, while supporting one another in the Christian life. This class frequently studies current Christian books as well as topics relevant to our faith.
This informal and lively class of age 50+ adults studies the Bible to relate it to life. Studies on a variety of topics usually last from 6 to 12 weeks. Many of the members of this class have adult children and grandchildren.
Woman of all ages come together for scripture-based studies and stimulating discussions. We use our time together to guide us as we grow in our faith, all while enjoying a cup of tea! (Coffee acceptable).
Our church is at its best when we are all together, including our children! On October 13, 2019, we begin Children’s Church during our 11:00am worship hour. All kindergarten through sixth grade children stay with their families until Children’s Time in worship. Ringing 4 Jesus Handbell Choir, grades 2-8 and beginner adults, provides an opportunity to connect with other ringers and create beautiful music with bells. On the second Thursday each month, FUMC Allen hosts an evening legal aid intake clinic. Applicants are interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and screened for income eligibility. If eligible, a volunteer attorney will conduct an interview with the applicant that same evening. Types of cases commonly seen are consumer protection, employment matters, estate planning, landlord/tenant, federal tax issues, divorce and domestic violence, debt collection, driver license reinstatement, and public benefits.
